PROFESSIONAL

Twenty-nine year veteran of the Fort Wayne, IN Police Department, with advanced training in hostage negotiations, mental illness, supervision, Internal Affairs investigations, and family violence. Davis was promoted to the rank of Patrol Sergeant in 1990, and to Lieutenant in 1996.

In March of 2000 she was named the first female Director of Training for the Fort Wayne Police Training Center and promoted to the rank of Captain.

In September 2005 Davis returned to the Patrol Division to oversee the annexation of 25,000 citizens into the City of Fort Wayne. She was promoted to Deputy Chief of the Northeast Division in May 2006, the largest populated and geographic division of the City.

Davis gave expert witness testimony in the landmark case of the Estate of Paula Ross v. Town of Gaston, IN civil lawsuit.

She is the owner and President of Davis Corporate Training, Inc., a private consulting business.

HONORS

Recipient of the Meritorious Service Citation for actions above and beyond the call of duty in rescuing a victim from a burning vehicle, Fort Wayne Police Department, 1983.

Recipient of the 1998 Indiana Law Enforcement Officer of the Year award given by the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

Recipient of the Jane Novak Award from Park Center, Inc. for the advocacy, education and public awareness, consumer and family support, and service integration in mental health resources, September, 2001.

Recipient of the Meritorious Service Citation for development and implementation of the Crisis Intervention Team Program, March 2002.

Recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award by the National Association of Social Workers Indiana Chapter for outstanding contributions to the community and promoting the quality of Social Services, March, 2002.

Recipient of the Hope Award by the YWCA of Fort Wayne for confronting violence against women, March 2002.

Recipient of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill award for continued support of the Crisis Intervention Team Program, October 2003.

Recipient of the Harlene Bartlett award from the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence for “outstanding service to the community including those affected by family violence”, October 2004.

Recipient of the Stephen L. VonRiesen Lecturer of Merit Award from the National College of District Attorneys Education Division, October 2006.

Recipient of the ATHENA Award from the Fort Wayne Chamber of Commerce, March 2007.
